It's All About Family!

The large colonial house in which El Arca do Noé is situated has been in the Benard family since the beginning of the 80s. The house has two gardens with surrounding corridors. Hammocks and rocking chairs populate the corridors, and the walls are decorated with paintings from one of the Benard family members. The Benard family have been living in Granada since the beginning of the 1800s. The lodging was created in 2015 with the beginning of the tourism boom in Granada and the rest of Nicaragua.

The name of the guesthouse, El Arca de Noé (or Noah's Ark), was taken from one of the Benard grandfather's old hardware stores that opened for business in the 1880s. The slogan of that initial business was to offer its clientele "a little bit of everything", just as Noah had a little bit of everything on the Arc. At El Arca de Noé, we aim to provide our guests with a little of everything: lodging, food, tours and culture.

At El Arca de Noé you will find every room named after a different pair of animals who visit the house from time to time. Currently there are 8 rooms: Los Zanates (black birds), Los Colobrís (hummingbirds), Los Garrobos (lizards), Las Palomas (doves), Las Mariposas (butterflies), Los Canarios (canaries), Los Chocoyos (parakeets) and Los Gecos (geckos).

Just as Noah took care of the inhabitants of the Arc, we take care of our guests and provide them with affordable lodging and a safe harbor to spend your time while discovering Granada and its surroundings. We offer affordable lodging services within a family ambience. We treat our guests as relatives who are visiting Granada for the first time.
